School. S.C.H.O.O.L- a word put together with letters, that just totally dont make sense to me. Like why is school called school? who named it anyways... I was just bored so I sat here and analyzed it. Like why would you name it school? Can't it be called like Learning Expresses- or Your Future. Gees... I really don;t know what you would call it, but why school? hehe :)
So I kept thinking about "school" and started wondering what people in other countries call it. Do they call it "school" just in their own language, or do they have a completely other name for it. I sure don't know. Maybe i will just ask some of our foreign exchange students.

ReplyDeleteNot to be confused with Secondary school.
For other uses, see High school (disambiguation).
High school is the name used in some parts of the world, particularly in Scotland, Northern America, and Oceania to describe an institution that provides all or part of secondary education. The actual term "high school" originated in Scotland with the world's oldest being the Royal High School (Edinburgh) in 1505,[1][2] and spread to the New World owing to the high prestige enjoyed by the Scottish educational system. (In the eighteenth century, Scotland had the world's most literate population.) A number of countries engaged Scottish educators to develop their state education systems.
